We Brought the Boys….to Thunder over the Sound

We are suckers for an air show. We try to go anytime they come within driving distance of our house. The truth is, my husband wishes he was flying those planes and he probably would be if not for a detached retina in college. Lucky for me he detached that retina and we were able to meet! The last time we came to this air show in Biloxi was in 2018 and I told my in-laws we were pregnant with Baylor while watching the show! We have been wanting to come back since then but COVID. I believe this is the first year they bring it back.        We had some points on our credit card and were able to get a room at the Hyatt  in Biloxi for Friday night. We figured it would be nice to beat the traffic there and have a place to park our car while we watched the show from the beach.(This turned out to be a very good decision, do this!)  We headed out right after school on Friday. You know that I couldn’t go to Mississippi without a visit to...

We Brought the Boys….to Winter Park

After going to Winter Park last spring break, my sister in law and brother in law extended an invitation for us to join them this year. We were a little hesitant at first to bring a 4 and 6 year old on the slopes but we decided we were up for the challenge!      We had a direct flight from New Orleans to Denver on Easter Sunday. While we hated to miss the holiday with our family, we lucked out with slim airport crowds!       We took a Home James shuttle from the airport to the resort! The shuttle was clean, the driver was friendly, and he even stopped to get us a good burger before we ventured out into the mountains. He dropped us off at our condo, Founder’s Pointe. All props go to my sister in law for finding this place when she came last year. It was the perfect location! You could walk to the busses to go into town and walk to the village and ski lift. She also had the great idea to get a floor level room so that we didn’t...

We Brought the Boys….to Great Wolf Lodge

Beginning with our Disney trip last Christmas, we’ve decided that each Christmas we would give the gift of an experience to our boys instead of toys. This year we chose the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas. We picked it for a few reasons, one being that we could drive and another being because the boys have been asking to go to another water park since we took them to Schlitterbahn in May 2021. So, I did the research and booked the Kid Cabin Suite a few months prior to Christmas and we surprised the kids on Christmas morning!   This room was 100% worth the upgrade. The boys were tickled to have their own cabin inside the room to sleep in. One down side was that the mattresses and blankets were very thin, but my boys aren’t too picky and can sleep almost anywhere.  We signed up for the Wolf Pass when booking, which gave the kids access to all sorts of cool things like a gold mining experience, magic quest wands, an arcade card, and free candy and ice cream! We...

We Didn’t Bring the Boys….to Scottsdale

One of the perks of having a husband who loves the SAINTS and football is that he would go anywhere if it involved going to a game. Another perk is a group of friends who equally love football as much as he does. So here we are, year number 4, where we pick a trip based off of the Saints away schedule. This year, we took a trip to the desert! Scottsdale, AZ to be exact!  Our flight landed a little later than some friends of ours and lucky for me they had already scoped out the first place we needed to visit, Wine Girl . The guys sat this one out, too girly for their football trip. We had sangria flights and a charcuterie board as we sat and chatted in the cutest little spot! We could have spent the whole time taking pictures! Props to Kelly and Aubrey on this find! After wine girl we began our walk down to The Scott Resort where we had massages scheduled while the guys headed to Phoenix for the football game. After our massages we did some shopping and had...
